Local Experiences
Indigenous Chocolate Experience & Bribri Waterfall
Your adventure starts with a 9:00 am pick up. You will head to the Indigenous Organic Chocolate Factory. Our guide will teach you everything you need to know about cacao, chocolate history, tropical wildlife, and of course chocolate making. You will see the whole process from flower to final product. And of course taste some delicious local chocolate.
After the chocolate tour, your day continues with a visit to an amazing waterfall where you will be able to swim and relax while enjoying a light snack. To access the waterfalls you need to hike about 4 to 4.5 hours. Some physical exertion is required, but guests in average physical condition have no problems.

Cahuita Boat, Snorkel & Hiking Trip
Cahuita National Park features the largest coral reefs in Southern Central America as well as great hiking trails with lots of wildlife. This trip combines a boat ride, snorkeling and hiking.
Your day starts with being picked up at your hotel and driving out to Cahuita. You will board a boat and sail out to Punta Cahuita. Once at the point, you can put on the snorkel gear to explore first hand the underwater tropical forest. After snorkeling you will dock back at the park, and head out for a guided rainforest hike with a knowledgeable guide who will assist you to identify monkeys, sloths, several reptiles, frogs and beautiful insects.

Departure time: 7:00 AM – PickUp time depending on location starting in Manzanillo.
Return time: 12:00 Noon – Arrive in time to shower before lunch on your own.

Pacuare rafting / White Water Rafting
Your day starts with being picked up at your hotel. You will be taken to Pacuare, a river gorge that is flanked by steep, green walls. Here you will enjoy the feeling of total isolation from urban life and the realness of being connected with nature. You see waterfalls cascade into the river from both sides as colorful, tropical birds fly right over your head. Amazing views of the tropical rainforest area as you descend through the river. Wildlife is abundant, with sloths, toucans, parrots, coatis, morpho butterflies and colorful frogs being common sights.
Departure and return location: San Jose, Puerto Viejo or Arenal with option to change destination.
Departure time: 6:00 – 6:30 am , Pick- Ups in San José and Southern Caribbean Coast. In Arenal Pick-Ups start earlier, approximately 5:20 – 5:40 a.m.

Caribbean zipline/canopy
This tour will allow you to enjoy nature from a very different view, while you put your adrenaline to the limit and glide swiftly through cables from a tree top perspective.
This Canopy has 10 platforms and 12 aerial platforms on land counting 2760 meters of cable altogether. From the moment you get to the seventh platform you will not touch the ground until the end of the tour, so you cross the jungle from a bird’s eye view. In this part of the tour, you will find yourself immersed in the primary forest.
Steel cables have been replaced with carbon fiber cables which are the latest technology. Having the characteristic of being completely silent, they allow you to experience the sounds of the rainforest.

Full Day Jungle Adventure
Your day starts with being picked up at your hotel and driven to Carbón located 30 minutes away from Puerto Viejo. You will be dropped off at the first platform where your adventure starts.
You will be guided to a river by crossing a hammock bridge. From there you will be guided to start a hike in the river surrounded by spectacular landscapes. You will use canyoneering equipment in parts of the hike. You will hike through pristine jungle stopping along the way to swim in natural pools as well as enjoy a beautiful waterfall where you will be guided to rapple
18 meters down the waterfall.
Then you will leave the river and hike through the primary forest to get to your next adventure – tree climbing. Using a harness you will climb 16 meters up a tree to get to a platform where you will start the canopy tour. Lunch will be served on one of the platforms.
After lunch you will do one of the most adrenaline pumping experiences, the Tarzan swing 16 meters above the ground and then make your way back to the base to start the return trip to Puerto Viejo.
